Einige Schauspieler proben in einer abgelegenen Stadt für eine mysteriöse Bühnenproduktion. Mit dabei ist auch der ehemalige Horrorfilmstar John, der miterlebt, wie einer seiner Kollegen ermordet wird. Als er den anderen davon erzählt, will ihm jedoch niemand glauben. Je mehr er auf seiner Geschichte beharrt, desto labiler erscheint er den Kollegen. Während John um seine geistige Gesundheit fürchtet, beginnt ein Katz-und-Mausspiel mit dem sinisteren Regisseur Nicholas. Je mehr die Schauspieler in ihren Rollen aufgehen, desto mehr beginnt das Stück der Realität zu gleichen - und die Todeszahl steigt an!
