晓诺与定强被困在电梯内，无法与外界通话，手机没有讯号，此外，定强身体不适，令晓诺更为焦急。定强性格使然，反倒坚强地安慰晓诺，两人聊起了各自的家庭：晓诺将父母相处的情形与弟弟妹妹的个性告诉定强，定强也说起自己在父母事故死亡后，由奶奶一手抚养长大的特殊身世，定强的大姑姑琇菁，年少失婚，不时令女儿蓁蓁与定强竞争，小姑姑琇蓉则是云英未嫁，投身于家族企业，担任总经理，强势的奶奶则始终以董事长的身份掌管公司。定强与晓诺两人聊到最后，正以为无法得救时，突然获救，定强被送入医院治疗，晓诺一手包办了医药费后，赶去上班。谁知另一头，在内地的尹家正悄然展开一场风暴，大姑姑琇菁趁定强不在，大肆渲染他与前女友的纷争，使得定强的形象大受打击。而台北这里，晓诺上完班回到家，发现爸妈已经结束员工旅游，然而两人却是吵着回家，只因潘妈得知潘爸瞒着家人，把保险解约，将钱都借给了一个老友“老王”，但老王是出名的有借不还，因此潘妈极为生气。潘家一顿晚餐吃得十分不愉快，潘爸干脆出门离开，晓诺担心的跟出，劝潘爸回家与潘妈和好，潘爸说出自己始终没给家人过好日子，相当自责，晓诺却安慰潘爸。潘爸转而关心晓诺与翔一的发展，晓诺黯然说出两人已经分手，潘爸缓言相慰，两人一起回家，父母终于言归于好。隔日晓诺回到办公室，晓诺的主管交下一件新任务，说明谁能拿到陆森的出书合约便能升职为主管，晓诺与竞争对手珊珊实时展开竞争
